Where are your meals made?
Our meals are made in our commercial kitchen in Thirsk, in the heart of North Yorkshire. We are a 5 star rated premises under Food Hygiene regulations.
How fresh are the meals?
Real & Ready meals are made on the day that they are delivered to you. Because we do not use preservatives, our meals will have 3-4 days of refrigerated shelf life. You can freeze our meals on the day of delivery.
Can I freeze my Real & Ready meals?
Yes, the fresh meals are ready for home freezing. Just pop in the freezer on the day of delivery. When ready to eat, ensure you defrost thoroughly in the fridge before heating and eating.
Where do you source your meat?
All our meat is reared and butchered in Yorkshire. We are proud to use Frank Family Butchers in Thirsk as our principal meat supplier.

Where do you deliver the meals?
Our meals are available for delivery in the following areas: Thirsk, Easingwold and the city of York area. Our website will prompt you to use a postcode check to ensure we can deliver. For a full list of postcodes, please see the next question.

Why is your delivery area set as it is?
We craft our Real & Ready meals at our kitchen in Thirsk, North Yorkshire. Freshness is important to us which means we have set our delivery area so we can ensure we can get the meals to you in full, fresh form.
When will you deliver to my area?
We plan to expand our delivery are in Yorkshire during 2026. Please join our mailing list and we will update you when we launch in your area. The next areas being considered at present are: Ripon, Wetherby and Harrogate/Knaresborough.
Is there a collection option?
Yes, it is possible to collect meals on Wednesdays (Tuesday production meals) and Fridays (Thursday production meals) from Brew & Bite Café in Thirsk. The café is open from 9am to 3pm on collection days. The address is 3 Marketplace, Thirsk, YO7 1HQ. There is no delivery charge for collected orders.
What time of day do you deliver the meals?
We aim to get the meals to you between 4.30pm and 6.30pm on the day of production. There will occasionally be unforeseen delays if any production issues arise.
Who delivers the meals?
The meals are delivered by a team member, we do not use external couriers. You will receive an estimated delivery time.
What is the delivery charge?
The delivery charge is £2.50 on order values up to £49.99 and then free on orders over £50.
How are the meals delivered?
The meals are delivered in their portioned boxes, placed in a paper bag. All meals are kept cold in transit to you and then left in your safe space. On a warmer day, you may wish to leave out a cool box/bag for us to place your meals in.
What if I am not in when the meals are delivered?
You can specify a safe space for us to leave the delivery. Please consider a shady spot or leave out a cool box/bag.
ORDERING
Is there minimum order?
Yes, a minimum order is 2 x meals. If you buy 4 x meals, you receive 10% discount and if you buy 10 x meals, you receive 20% discount.
How can I keep up to date with your menu changes?
The best way to stay up to date is to join our email list.
PACKAGING
How are your meals packaged?
Our single-portion meals are packaged in a rectangular, waxed card box with a plastic lid. The lid is made of PP (5) plastic and can be washed then recycled. The waxed card box will need to go into general waste.
Is the packaging leak proof?
Sorry but no, our meals should be stored upright when fresh.
ALLERGENS
How can I discover the allergens present in your meals?
We have a full list of ingredients on our website, specific to each meal. In line with UK food safety guidance and legislation, we highlight the common 14 allergens on the ingredients list. If you have any queries about allergens, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Are any of your meals Gluten Free?
Yes, we prepare several meals that are free from gluten in the ingredients. This includes our chillies, our curries and most dishes served with rice. We do handle gluten in our kitchen so we cannot guarantee that meals are safely gluten free. People diagnosed with Coeliac Disease should be aware of this.
I have a severe nut/sesame allergy, can I order your meals?
Many of our meals includes Sesame Oil or Peanuts. We handle these ingredients in our kitchen. Therefore, we advise that cross-contamination may occur.
